Apple took a bold decision in 2016. It removed one feature that was similar and had a very significant use in everybody’s lives. It removed the headphone jack completely and replaced them with wireless earpieces AirPods. Apple basically waged a war on wires and then what followed was a domino effect in other phones as well. Typical Apple. Now that people have gotten used to the wireless segment, Apple has decided to up its game through Apple AirPods 2.

The second generation hasn’t been announced officially by Apple, but according to some credible sources, it might hit the market sooner than later. Based on leaks and reports, the AirPods 2 might get released in late 2018 or early 2019.

We might get 2 new AirPods-

According to Ming-Chi Kuo , a veteran Apple analyst who has a history of correct predictions, Apple is working on two models of the wireless earphones. They both are expected to be released within a year.

Both the 2018 and 2019 models are certain to have better Bluetooth connectivity because of the W2 chip. W2 is an upgraded version of the W1 chip, which handled connections of the AirPods. An omnipresent Siri is also expected to be included, meaning that your phone calls and other voice features are just a “Hey Siri” away.

As per Bloomberg, the 2019 version of AirPods is going to have waterproofing. Mind you, that it would be splash and rain resistant only. So diving with them on is not a good idea. AirPods 2 would be created in a way to track fitness data as well. This can be ascertained by the biometric sensors patent Apple filed in July. iPhone 11 release date isn’t confirmed yet.

Like other high-end wireless earphones, the second generation would have better sound handling features. As per another patent filed in July , a valve system would diminish the reverberating effect users experience while talking through the earbuds. A microphone feature would enable noise filtering, to ensure that you are not totally isolated from your surroundings.

An improved Qi charging speed and battery life would enhance the experience altogether. It’s just a matter of time before we see the next gen AirPods. Hopefully, AirPods 2.0 might just break the ground like its predecessor.
