At Apple’s Spring Forward event in San Francisco, where the Cupertino, California, company announced the latest MacBook in an event which is going to be thinnest and lightest device with 2 pounds, it’s the lightest notebook ever designed by the company. Actually this upcoming MacBook is 24% thinner than the current MacBook Air.
To get the thinness, Apple has redesigned many components of the MacBook. Even Macbook’s keyboard has been changed to what Apple calls a butterfly mechanism, and keys are now 40 percent thinner and 17 percent larger and are individually lit by light-emitting diodes. Even you can see some changes in Track Pad with Force Touch and Taptic technology, first introduced by Apple in the Watch. Apple ditched almost all connectors on the outside, replacing them with USB-C connectors that can be used to accommodate USB, Display Port, HDMI and VGA inputs.
According to some earlier reports, this 12-inch Retina display now comes the edge to edge, eschewing the thick bezel commonly seen in current MacBooks, while coming in at 0.88mm, the thinnest display panel on a Mac. Internally, Apple has also redesigned the logic board to pack more components like 1.3GHz Intel Core M in less space.
This thinnest and very light MacBook will be available in Gold, Silver and Space grey soon with a price tag of $1,299. Probably this smart device starts shipping from April 1st week. Stay tune for more details.
