Apple hires BBC executive producer Joe Oppenheimer to expand video vertical

Apple has hired Joe Oppenheimer, a BBC executive producer. He is known for “I,Daniel Blake”,”Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa” and “My Scientology Movie”.

Joe Oppenheimer will be working in London and reporting to Jay Hunt. He is Apple’s European Creative Director. He joined the company in October and has a high profile experience in Channel 4 and BBC One.

Apple will release number of shows by March and most of them will aim at the American market. The company has picked a France’s Channel+ show named “Calls” and is working on it English language co-production.

Oppenheimer has received Emmy nomination for “One Life”, a BBC Films documentary about lifecycles of animals and has production experience from 2002. Some of his recent works include “On Chesil Beach” and “Victoria & Abdul”.
