Apple has finally released the iTunes app on the Microsoft phone. This app will only run on Windows 10. They can download it from the Microsoft store. It is similar to the regular iTune with the only difference that the installation updates will be handled through the Microsoft Store updater rather than through Apple.
Prior to it’s availablity today, iTunes was only available as a standalone download. Bringing the software to the Microsoft Store brings compatibility.
Microsoft in its build conference held in last year said had announced plans to add iTunes to the Microsoft store. It’s release date was said to be at the end of 2017. At it’s release date they said that they would require a little more time. A company spokesperson failed to a concrete launch timeline. They did not even elaborated the complications they faced in porting the content management software to Microsoft’s locked-down operating system.
What is iTunes?
It is the easiest way to enjoy your favourite music, movies, TV shows, and more on your PC. iTunes is also home to Apple Music, where you can listen to millions of songs and your entire music library, online or off – all ad-free. Also, get new music first, radio in every music genre, handpicked playlists, and Beats 1 live or on demand.
Installing the latest version on iTunes will automatically replace the version one might have been using on their PC. Before installing the update it is better to backup the data. If the app is being installed in the internal hardware users will need at-least 476.7 MB of disk space to install the new version of iTunes from the Microsoft Store. This is only when the users are not installing it in the external disk.
