Apple’s iPad Mini 3 is the third generation device, which is enhanced version of iPad Mini 2. This previous version was announced in the month of October 2013 and exactly after one year in the month of 2014 latest version was announced by Apple. Design and Display : 

The design of latest mini 3 is almost similar to the iPad mini 2, where as the only difference in this device is presence of metal ring around the home button which is also part of new touch ID feature. In iPad mini 2 we can’t find the gold model. Both the devices comes with 7.9 inch retina display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. These devices has 7.5 mm thickness with 331 grams of weight.

Specifications :

Both iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 3 has specifications, powered by same A7 processor and also M7 co-processor, The connectives of these devices are also same which has Dual WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0. Even cameras of these devices sports same. Both the minis comes with 5 megapixel rear camera with 2592 x 1944 pixels and auto focus facing on its back and even they have same 1.2 Megapixel HD camera facing on its front with Faca detection and Face time over.

The iPad mini 2 comes with 16/32 GB’s of internal memory with two variants, whereas in iPad mini 3 comes in three variants with out 32 GB variant. It means available only in 16/64/128 GB with RAM of 1GB LP DDR 3. The one and only biggest difference between these two devices is Touch ID finger print sensor on the Home button of the iPad mini 3 whereas mini 2 don’t have this featured sensor. The purpose of this Touch ID finger sensor is to unlock the screen by using your finger rather than password or code.

Currently iPad mini 2 running on iOS 8 and mini three is running on iOS 8.1 and the sensors of the devices are three axis gyro, Accelerometer, ambient light sensor.
