Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 Pro later this year, and some details about its design and features have already leaked online. According to CAD files obtained by 91mobiles, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a larger Action button, a new Capture button, and a slightly bigger and thicker body than the iPhone 15 Pro. Here is what we know so far about the upcoming flagship device from Apple.
A larger Action button for more functionality
The Action button, which was introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro last fall, is a multifunctional button that can be used to launch Siri, Apple Pay, or other apps. It is located on the right side of the device, below the power button. According to the CAD files, the Action button will be slightly larger in the iPhone 16 Pro, presumably to make it easier to access and use. The Action button is also expected to have a different color than the rest of the device, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro.
A new Capture button for easier camera control
The iPhone 16 Pro is also rumored to have a new button on the lower right side of the device, called the Capture button. This button is expected to give easier access to camera controls, such as switching between modes, zooming, or taking photos and videos. The Capture button will free up the Action button for other tasks, such as launching apps or shortcuts. The Capture button will also have a different color than the rest of the device, according to the CAD files.
A slightly bigger and thicker body for better performance
The iPhone 16 Pro will measure 149.6×71.4×8.4mm with a 6.1-inch display, according to the CAD files. Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro’s dimensions (146.6x 70.6×8.25mm), the iPhone 16 Pro is slightly taller, wider and thicker. The reason for the increased size and thickness could be to accommodate a larger battery, a faster processor, or other hardware improvements. The iPhone 16 Pro is widely expected to have faster wifi, upgraded 5G, and better performance than the iPhone 15 Pro.
Other changes and features to look forward to
The iPhone 16 Pro will also have some other changes and features that are not visible in the CAD files, but have been reported by various sources. For example, the iPhone 16 Pro will likely have a smaller notch, a 120Hz refresh rate display, and a better camera system with improved optical zoom and autofocus. The iPhone 16 Pro will also support ProRes video recording, which is a high-quality video format that can take up a lot of storage space. Therefore, the iPhone 16 Pro could offer up to 2TB of storage capacity, which would be the highest ever for an iPhone. The iPhone 16 Pro will also come in new colors, such as yellow and gray, in addition to the existing colors of silver, graphite, gold, and pacific blue.
The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to be announced in September 2024, along with the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 mini, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro will likely be priced at $999 for the base model, and go up to $1,499 for the 2TB model. The iPhone 16 Pro will be one of the most advanced and powerful smartphones in the market, and will offer a new design and features that will appeal to many users.
