Leaked photos of ‘iPhone SE 2’ surface online

  • iPhone SE 2 photos leaked online
  • Support for wireless charging likely, with 3.5mm jack retained
  • Release suspected for next month

The iPhone SE 2 rumours have been in the market for quite a long time now. Every week or two there are rumours about specifications and look leaks about the device. However, this time a string of photos has surfaced online which allegedly belong to the fully built iPhone SE 2.

These new photos show a fully built iPhone SE 2, with resemblances to some leaks first reported in March. The iPhone in the leaked images can be seen with a glass back panel and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The photos were spotted on China’s Weibo by Czech site Letemsvetem.

They depict a device somewhere in between the two extremes of the rumoured specs; a new glass back for wireless charging but a retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming around to the specifications part, as this isn’t one of the high-end premium Apple devices, the SE 2 is most likely to sport a 2 GB RAM with regular 64-128GB internal storage options. Also, as seen in the photo the TouchID is most likely to be continued. Being on the lower tier of devices for Apple, the TrueDepth camera for Face ID feature is too much to ask for. In addition, if rumours are to be believed, the SE 2 will have an upgraded processor too, A10 instead of A9. Although in our opinion, if Apple chooses to cut so many premium features from the SE 2 as compared to iPhone 8, but still wants to keep the phone relevant given the amount of competition from its Android counterpart, they might end up giving the consumers an A11 bionic chip.

Talking about the launch of the device; given that Apple is using basic technology and minimal feature and images starting to appear online, the device can be expected to be released worldwide as soon as by next month. Let’s see what Apple has to offer!
