As summer unfolds, so do the holiday and Sunday truck traffic bans across Europe. However, beyond the regular restrictions, several regions are implementing additional festive traffic bans in July and August.
These measures impact hauliers, who must adjust their operations during public holidays.
July Restrictions:
- Feast of the Slavic Apostles Cyril and Methodius (July 5):
- Czech Republic: From 13:00 to 22:00, lorries and vehicle combinations over 7.5 tonnes face restrictions.
- Slovakia: From 00:00 to 22:00, vehicles with a gross weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes are affected. Transit journeys are not exempt.
- Day of the Burning of Master Jan Hus (July 6):
- Czech Republic: From 07:00 to 22:00, further restrictions apply.
- French National Holiday (July 14):
- France: From 00:00 to 22:00, lorries and vehicle combinations over 7.5 tonnes are subject to the ban.
August Restrictions:
- Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15):
- Celebrated in Catholic countries, this holiday brings additional restrictions.
- Switzerland (August 1): From 00:00 to 24:00, trucks over 3.5 tonnes face bans.
- Croatia (August 4): From 12:00 to 23:00, trucks and convoys over 7.5 tonnes, as well as trucks and semi-trailers over 14 meters, are affected.
- Croatia (August 5): From 14:00 to 23:00, Thanksgiving Day celebrations impact traffic.
- Croatia (August 14): From 15:00 to 23:00, further restrictions apply.
