Searchlight is a jailbreak which makes you to improve spotlight in some basic ways, it allows you to access the spotlight search interface from any where even within any application. It also allows you to bolt on favorite and recent applications to interface.
Suppose you’re using app launcher on your desktop machine, then search light might be jailbreak that exactly fits for your work flow. Once you are done with installing you have to launch stock settings application and navigate preference panel. In Preference panel you ll find the well designed preferences for the tweak. Initially you have to add the activator gesture by means of activator methods.
After establishing the activator gesture, you can customize searchlight’s appearance and also behavior, these settings changes the look and switch from a default Adaptive Light view to light, Dark, or a Blur view.
Now with any change it is possible to make tweak preferences but you have to dare to root of the preferences and tap on the save and refresh button to enact the changes. This doesn’t require respiring and you won’t see any of your changes until you do this.
In this searchlight there are three sections favorites, recent and somewhat smaller extent, Application list where you can place this list as per your desire. Recents makes you to establish custom header name and choose between 1, 3, or 5 recent apps to display in Spotlight. These recents show up as soon as you invoke Spotlight, so they’re right at your fingertips. Where as Favorites also works almost similar but you can selectively designate which apps that you like to include as favorites. You can then arrange each of your favorites in the desired order.
Application list includes hidden applications like Field-test, that have no useful bearing on a normal user’s day-to-day experience and these hidden apps are lack app icons, which makes their inclusion look messy and unkept. Even you can black list the apps that you wants to reject. The search light has core spot light functionality remains and this tweak really does nothing to change how spotlight functions.
The difference is that now instead of viewing a blank page when Spotlight loaded, you’re presented with your favorite apps and recent apps. This makes Spotlight better for using as an application launcher, not to mention that it’s now accessible from anywhere, even while within another app, courtesy of the Activator integration. This Search light is available for $1.99 on the BigBoss Repo.
