According to some reports, Uber is in plan to expand its company from ride-sharing to food delivery. A new report claims that Uber will launch its UberEats app and food delivery service in all the major cities of United States probably this service will go live sometime in the month of march.
The UberEats app will be the first stand-alone app for Uber since it launched its ride-share app. The Wall Street Journal reports that UberEats has been in testing in Toronto for the past month.
The UberEats delivery service, an expansion of a lunchtime-only service Uber began offering in a dozen cities last year, will use its network of more than a million drivers to transport goods, in addition to people. In recent years, Uber has had mixed results when it tried its hand at local logistics, transporting everything from designer suits in New York to toothpaste in Washington, D.C.
When this app launches, UberEats will be available in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Austin, Washington DC, San Francisco, Atlanta, Houston, Seattle and Dallas, The lunchtime-only service, which delivers food in under 10 minutes, will stick around, but will be renamed to UberEats Instant. As per some inside sources this application will be available on iOS, Android, Windows platforms.
