Kohli lost the toss for the third time on the trot and they were also a batsman short after Shikhar Dhawan injured his shoulder while fielding. But a fine bowling effort, led by the miserly Jasprit Bumrah, followed by the awe-inspiring Rohit Sharma-Kohli show sealed the deal with ease for India.
Kohli said that one of the many things the team has worked on in recent times is taking the toss out of the equation.
Kohli underlined that the youngsters have stepped up. “That’s been the difference, even if we lose the toss, we have the belief that we can play expressive cricket to get results our way. The last six or eight months have been a revelation and the younger guys stepping up is a very good sign for Indian cricket.”
According to Kohli, the series win was special and different from their previous victories against Australia.”It’s a little different from what we’ve done in the past. We were a batsman short and we had to take a call about who bats where,” he said.
