For Apple watch a new option in the software’s Settings menu is hailing by Testers of the first watchOS 5 beta that allows to manually connect the device to nearby Wi-Fi networks.
In the earlier versions of watchOS, Apple Watch is secured to the wireless network that was tied in iPhone. And there’s no mode to scan and manually connect to networks from the wrist.
Although all that variations in watchOS 5, if the beta 1 seed is anything to go by. A user named whiskey_91 has noticed a new option in Settings where customers can search and connect the Apple Watch instantly available Wi-Fi networks during the iPhone is out of reach.
Following network is chosen from the list and users are proposed to enter the Wi-Fi password via Scribble. While working on the Digital Crown to select lowercase/uppercase and special characters. Then the Join button arises for users to touch and connect to the network.
The current Wi-Fi option arises on both Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models, but it is still to validate whether it works on Series 1 or not.
There’s lots more to look ahead to watchOS 5 gets its official launch in the fall. But the keen adopters are told to stay patient while Apple works out the knots.
