Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa (FPN) is one of the leading polytechnics in Nigeria, offering various undergraduate, pre-degree and diploma programmes in engineering, technology, natural and applied sciences, business and management studies, and environmental studies.
FPN is located in Nasarawa State, about 110 kilometers from the federal capital, Abuja.

FPN Admission
To be eligible for admission into FPN, candidates must meet the following requirements:
UTME entry mode: Candidates must have credit level passes in at least five subjects, including Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Chemistry, in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent. Candidates must also have acceptable scores in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Direct entry mode: Candidates must have passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at GCE ‘A’ level or equivalent. Holders of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) at a minimum of upper credit level are also eligible for admission into 200- and 300-levels respectively.
Inter-university transfer mode: Candidates must have relevant qualifications from other recognized institutions and must satisfy the faculty requirements. Candidates must also obtain a transfer form from FPN and pay the prescribed fee.
FPN Admission Portal
FPN has an online admission portal where candidates can apply for admission, check their admission status, pay fees, register courses, and access other academic information. The admission portal is accessible through the FPN main website fpn.edu.ng. To use the admission portal, candidates need to follow these steps:
- Visit the FPN main website fpn.edu.ng and click on “Admission” for a drop-down menu list.
- From the drop-down menu list, click on “Apply for Admission” to proceed.
- Click on the “Apply Now” button and fill out the online form with a valid email address and telephone number.
- Check your email for the activation link sent to you from the polytechnic and click or copy and paste the link in your browser to continue with your application.
- Upload your credentials, passport photograph, and other required documents.
- Select your preferred programme of study and pay the application fee using Remita or other payment options available on the portal.
- Print out your application slip and keep it for future reference.
How to Check FPN Admission Status
Candidates who have applied for admission at FPN can check their admission status on the admission portal using their application number. To check your admission status, follow these steps:
- Log on to the admission portal fpn.edu.ng/students/check-admission.
- Enter your unique application number in the box.
- Click on the “Check” button to see if you are successfully shortlisted for provisional admission.
- If you are admitted, you will see a congratulatory message and instructions on how to accept your admission offer and pay your acceptance fee.
- If you are not admitted, you will see a message indicating that your admission is still pending or that you are not qualified for admission.
FPN Admission List
FPN releases its admission list in batches depending on the availability of spaces and the performance of candidates. The first batch admission list is usually released in October or November, while the second batch admission list is released in January or February. The admission list contains the names of candidates who have been offered provisional admission into various programmes at FPN. The admission list is published on the FPN website fpn.edu.ng, as well as on notice boards within the campus.
