Jamia Hamdard is an institute of higher education deemed to be university located in New Delhi, India. It is a government-funded university that was established in 1989 by the Hamdard National Foundation, a charitable trust founded by Hakeem Abdul Hameed, a renowned Unani physician and philanthropist. Jamia Hamdard was formally inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Shri Rajiv Gandhi, on August 1, 1989.
Jamia Hamdard offers a variety of programmes of study in the fields of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Chemical and Life Sciences, Unani Medicine, Engineering and Technology, Management, Paramedical and Rehabilitation Sciences, Food Technology, Interdisciplinary Sciences, Law and Humanities. The university has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for two consecutive terms. Jamia Hamdard Admission
Jamia Hamdard admission is offered to over 86 UG, PG and doctoral courses in various disciplines. The admission process is based on different entrance examinations conducted by the university or national agencies.
The applications for all the courses are available online on the Jamia Hamdard Admission Portal – ums.jamiahamdard.ac.in. The candidates have to register online and fill the application form with the required details and fee payment.
The candidates have to also upload the scanned copies of their documents such as mark sheets, certificates, photographs and signatures.
Jamia Hamdard UG Admission
Jamia Hamdard offers UG courses in engineering, science, pharmacy, optometry, computer applications, arts, commerce, hotel management and medical sciences.
The duration of the UG courses ranges from 3 years to 5.5 years. The admission to the UG courses is based on the following criteria:
Jamia Hamdard UG Eligibility Criteria
- For B.Tech: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also have a valid score in JEE Main Paper 1.
- For B.Sc., B.Optom., BCA: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/Computer Science as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- For BA (Hons.), BBA: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also qualify in the CUET UG exam and an interview conducted by the university.
- For B.Com (Hons.), BHM: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- For B.Sc.-M.Sc. Integrated: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
- For MBBS: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also have qualified NEET UG.
- For B.Sc. Nursing: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 45% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also be medically fit.
- For BPT, BOT, BUMS: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also have appeared in NEET UG.
- For B.Pharma: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also have a valid score in JEE Main Paper 1 or NEET UG.

- For M.Tech: The candidate must have a B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant branch of engineering with at least 55% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also qualify in an interview conducted by the university. For M.Tech (Food Technology) and M.Tech (Bioinformatics), the university conducts its own entrance test.
- For M.Sc.: The candidate must have a B.Sc. or equivalent degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also qualify in an entrance test and an interview conducted by the university.
- For M.Pharma: The candidate must have a B.Pharma or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also have a valid score in GPAT.
- For M.Optom.: The candidate must have a B.Optom. or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- For MCA: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level or at graduation level with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also qualify in an entrance test and an interview conducted by the university.
- For MA: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also qualify in an interview conducted by the university. For MA (Human Rights), the university conducts its own entrance test.
- For MBA: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also have a valid score in CMAT/MAT/GMAT/XAT/GPAR or ATMA.
- For M.Com.: The candidate must have a B.Com. or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- For MHMCT: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
- For MD, MS: The candidate must have an MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and completed one year of internship. The candidate must also have qualified NEET PG. For MD (Unani), the candidate must have a BUMS or equivalent degree recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and completed six months of internship. The candidate must also have qualified AYUSH PGET.

Jamia Hamdard Admission Process – How to Do?
- Visit the Jamia Hamdard Admission Portal and click on “New Registration”.
- Fill the registration form with your personal details, email id and mobile number and create a password.
- Verify your email id and mobile number through OTPs sent to them.
- Login to your account using your email id and password.
- Select the course you want to apply for and fill the application form with your academic details, entrance exam details, preferences and other information.
- Upload your scanned documents such as mark sheets, certificates, photographs and signatures as per the specifications given on the portal.
- Pay the application fee through online mode using debit card/credit card/net banking/UPI.
- Submit your application form and take a printout of it for future reference.
