Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) is a private deemed to be university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The university was established in 2007 and has nine constituent institutes offering various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering, medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, management, law, hospitality, agriculture and biotechnology. Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission

SOA admission to various courses is based on the performance of the candidates in the national level or university level entrance examinations. The university conducts its own entrance test called SAAT (Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission Test) for most of the courses.

Candidates with valid scores in JEE Main, NEET or CLAT are also eligible for admission to some courses. The admission process also involves counselling, document verification and fee payment.

SOA offers a wide range of undergraduate courses in different disciplines. Some of the popular UG courses are:

B.Tech: SOA offers B.Tech programmes in 12 specializations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc. The duration of the programme is four years and the intake is 1440 seats.
B.Sc: SOA offers B.Sc programmes in six specializations such as Agriculture, Biotechnology, Nursing etc. The duration of the programme is three or four years depending on the specialization and the intake is 360 seats.
BBA: SOA offers BBA programme in General and Hospital Management streams. The duration of the programme is three years and the intake is 120 seats.

The eligibility criteria for UG admission at SOA vary according to the course and the entrance exam. The general eligibility criteria are:

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in the relevant subjects.

Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission Process – How to Do?

SOA conducts its own entrance test called Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Admission Test (SAAT) for admission to most of its courses. SAAT is a computer-based test that is held in multiple cities across India. The candidates have to apply online through the official website of SOA and pay the application fee.

The candidates have to appear for SAAT as per the schedule and download their admit cards from the website. The candidates are selected based on their performance in SAAT and their academic records. The selected candidates have to participate in the counselling process conducted by SOA and verify their documents. The final seat allotment is done based on the merit list, availability of seats and preferences of the candidates.

Some courses offered by SOA also accept national level entrance test scores such as CAT, XAT, MAT, JEE Main, GPAT, GATE, NEET and CLAT. The candidates who have qualified these exams have to apply separately through the official website of SOA and upload their scorecards. The candidates are shortlisted based on their scores and called for counselling. The admission process for these courses is similar to that of SAAT.
