SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), formerly known as SRM University, is one of the leading private higher education institutes in India. It was established in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It gained the deemed to be university status in 2002 and changed its name to SRM Institute of Science and Technology in 2017.

Admission to SRMIST is based on the performance of the candidates in the respective entrance exams conducted by the university or other national level exams. The university conducts its own entrance exams such as SRMJEEE for B.Tech admission, SRMJEEH for health sciences admission, SRMJEEM for MBA admission and SRMCAT for MCA admission. The university also accepts scores of other exams such as JEE Main, NEET-UG, NEET-PG, CAT, MAT, XAT etc.

The candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online or offline through the official website of the university. The application fee varies depending on the course and mode of application.

The candidates have to fill the application form with their personal and academic details and upload the required documents. The candidates who apply offline have to send the hard copy of the application form along with the demand draft to the university address.

• For B.Tech admission: The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects. They must also qualify in SRMJEEE or JEE Main exam.
• For B.Arch admission: The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and Mathematics as a compulsory subject. They must also have a valid score in NATA or JEE Main Paper-II exam.
• For B.Des admission: The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. They must also qualify in UCEED exam or appear for an aptitude test conducted by the university.
• For other UG courses: The candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board. The specific subject requirements vary depending on the course.

SRMIST offers various postgraduate programs in different streams such as engineering, architecture, design, management, commerce, computer applications, arts, science etc.

The eligibility criteria for PG admission at SRMIST are as follows:

• For M.Tech admission: The candidates must have a B.Tech or B.E degree in the relevant branch of engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. They must also qualify in SRMJEEE (PG) or GATE exam.
• For M.Arch admission: The candidates must have a B.Arch degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. They must also have a valid score in NATA or GATE exam.
• For M.Des admission: The candidates must have a B.Des or B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. They must also qualify in CEED exam or appear for an aptitude test conducted by the university.
• For MBA admission: The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. They must also qualify in SRMJEEM or CAT or MAT or XAT or CMAT or GMAT exam.
• For MCA admission: The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and Mathematics as a compulsory subject at 10+2 level. They must also qualify in SRMCAT or TANCET exam.
• For other PG courses: The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. The specific entrance exam requirements vary depending on the course.

The application form for SRMIST admission 2023 is available online and offline through the official website of the university. The candidates can fill the application form by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official website of SRMIST and click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
• Register yourself by providing your name, email id, mobile number and password.
• Login with your registered email id and password and fill the application form with your personal, academic and contact details.
• Choose your preferred course, campus and entrance exam.
• Upload your scanned photograph, signature and other documents as per the specifications.
• Pay the application fee online through net banking, credit card, debit card or UPI. The application fee is Rs.1100 for online mode and Rs.1160 for offline mode.
• Submit the application form and take a printout of it for future reference.

The candidates who apply offline have to download the application form from the website and fill it manually. They have to attach a demand draft of Rs.1160 drawn in favour of ‘SRMIST’ payable at Chennai along with the application form. The admission process for SRMIST varies depending on the course and entrance exam. The general steps involved in the admission process are as follows:
