Symbiosis International is a private, multi-institutional, deemed university located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It was established in 1971 by Padmashree Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, a visionary educationist and philanthropist, with the motto of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, meaning “the world is one family”. The university aims to provide quality education to students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and to foster international understanding and cooperation.

Symbiosis International offers a variety of programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and diploma levels in eight faculties: Architecture & Design, Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health Sciences, Media & Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Engineering. The university has 19 academic institutions spread over nine campuses in Pune, Noida, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Nashik and Noida. Symbiosis International admission process is different for domestic and international students. Domestic students have to appear for the common entrance tests conducted by the university for various programmes.

International students have to apply through the Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE), which handles the admission process for them.

Symbiosis International UG Admission

Symbiosis International offers undergraduate programmes in various disciplines such as law, management, computer studies, media and communication, economics, liberal arts and engineering.

The admission to these programmes is based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance tests conducted by the university.

Symbiosis International UG Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the undergraduate programmes vary according to the course and the institute. The general eligibility criteria are as follows:

• The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
• The candidate should have appeared for the relevant entrance test conducted by the university.
• The candidate should have fulfilled the specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective institute.

The entrance tests for the undergraduate programmes are:

• SET: Symbiosis Entrance Test for general programmes such as BBA, BCA, BBA (IT), B.Sc. (Economics), B.A./B.Sc. (Liberal Arts).
• SLAT: Symbiosis Law Admission Test for law programmes such as B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B.
• SITEEE: SIT Engineering Entrance Exam for engineering programmes such as B.Tech.

The candidates have to register online for the entrance tests on the official website of the university www.set-test.org. The entrance tests are usually conducted in a computer-based mode across various cities of India. However, due to the Covid pandemic across the globe and specially in India, these tests will be conducted in an online home proctored mode for the year 2021.

The candidates who qualify the entrance tests will be shortlisted for further admission process such as personal interview and writing ability test conducted by the respective institutes.

Symbiosis International PG Admission

Symbiosis International offers postgraduate programmes in various disciplines such as management, computer studies, health sciences, media and communication, humanities and social sciences and engineering.

The admission to these programmes is based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance tests conducted by the university or other national level tests.

Symbiosis International PG Admission Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the postgraduate programmes vary according to the course and the institute. The general eligibility criteria are as follows:

• The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
• The candidate should have appeared for the relevant entrance test conducted by the university or other national level tests.
• The candidate should have fulfilled the specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective institute.

The entrance tests for the postgraduate programmes are:

• SNAP: Symbiosis National Aptitude Test for management programmes such as MBA and M.Sc. (Economics).
• Symbiosis Entrance Test for M.Tech programmes.
• Symbiosis Entrance Test for M.Des programmes.
• Symbiosis Entrance Test for LLM programmes.
• Symbiosis Entrance Test for M.Sc. (Nursing) programmes.
• Symbiosis Entrance Test for M.Sc. (Biotechnology) programmes.

The candidates have to register online for the entrance tests on the official website of the university www.snaptest.org. The entrance tests are usually conducted in a computer-based mode across various cities of India.

The candidates who qualify the entrance tests will be shortlisted for further admission process such as group exercise, personal interview and writing ability test conducted by the respective institutes.

Some of the postgraduate programmes also accept the scores of other national level tests such as CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, GATE, CEED, CLAT, etc. The candidates who have valid scores in these tests can apply directly to the respective institutes without appearing for the university entrance tests.

Symbiosis International Application Form

The candidates who wish to apply for any programme offered by Symbiosis International have to fill an online application form on the official website of the university www.siu.edu.in. The application form requires the personal details, academic details, entrance test details and programme preferences of the candidates. The candidates also have to upload their scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.

The candidates have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1750/- for each entrance test and Rs. 1000/- for each programme through online mode using credit card, debit card or net banking. The candidates can also pay the fee through demand draft drawn in favour of “Symbiosis Test Secretariat” payable at Pune.

The candidates have to submit the online application form before the last date specified by the university. The candidates who pay the fee through demand draft have to send a printout of their application form along with the demand draft to the following address:

Symbiosis International Admission Process – How to Do?

The admission process of Symbiosis International consists of four stages:

• Stage 1: Registration and Application
• Stage 2: Entrance Test
• Stage 3: Shortlisting and Selection Process
• Stage 4: Merit List Declaration and Admission

The candidates have to follow these steps to complete the admission process:

• Step 1: Register online for the entrance test and programme of your choice on the official website of the university www.siu.edu.in.
• Step 2: Pay the application fee through online mode or demand draft.
• Step 3: Download and print your admit card for the entrance test from the website.
• Step 4: Appear for the entrance test on the scheduled date and time at your preferred test centre or online home proctored mode.
• Step 5: Check your score and rank in the entrance test on the website.
• Step 6: Wait for the shortlisting announcement by the respective institute based on your score and rank in the entrance test.
• Step 7: Participate in the further admission process such as personal interview and writing ability test conducted by the respective institute.
• Step 8: Check your final merit list status on the website.
• Step 9: Confirm your admission by paying the first instalment of fees within the stipulated time period.
• Step 10: Complete your document verification and enrolment process at your allotted institute.
